Freeze a mix of fresh herbs in extra virgin olive oil to make a quick sauted starter. This oil with herbs in it gives your food instant flavor and makes cooking easy.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup assorted fresh herbs rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions:
Clean and dry the fresh herbs well
Cut the herbs into small pieces and spread them out evenly in an ice cube tray
Put some extra virgin olive oil in each compartment and cover the chopped herbs completely
Put the tray of ice cubes in the freezer and freeze them for at least 4 hours, or until they are solid
Take out the oil cubes that have herbs in them and put them in a zip-top bag to keep them fresh in the freezer
To use, just drop a frozen oil cube with herbs into a hot pan while cooking meat, vegetables, or other things
